Clear Blending Sponge?! >> Silisponge
Remember those days when all of us used our fingers to apply foundation? When Beauty Blenders came out, (my first sighting of beauty blenders were from my local Sephora) it was huge. I should say, ever since I started using Beauty Blenders, (Blending Sponges) I've never went back to my foundation brushes. I still am a loyal user of Blending Sponges when applying my face makeup. But then this happens...👇🏼👇🏼👇🏼
What?!...A clear Blending Sponge? These bra insert looking thing is actually for beating your face to become a goddess?!...No freaking way. However, after several use of these, I give these a solid 10/10. First things first, let's educate ourselves which materials these are made of...
- Material : Silicone, Thermoplastic polyurethane
- Size : 2.5" X 1.5" X 0.75"
Top beauty influencers like Hudabeauty / Jefreestar / Tati / Nikkietutorials and more have videos using a Silisponge or an actual bra insert!
Description for Silisponge (Clear Blending Sponge) is as follows....
👉🏼Silisponge's inner material is made from silicone and the outer shell is thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) - a flexible plastic that's resistant to oil and grease.
With the Silisponge, makeup adheres to your face instead of the tool.
From my experience, the best things about the silisponge are, 1. There are minimum (almost none) waste of makeup product. Unlike your traditional makeup sponges, these will never absorb your foundation. 2. These clear sponges are super easy to clean. All I need to do to clean theses sponges is simply wipe them with Facial Tissues. No more washing your blending sponges the night before or using a dirty blending sponge.
Really important thing to keep in mind when using these sponges, is that these only need very small amount of product. I would say use only the half amount of the foundation you normally need. Otherwise, you might end up looking cakey (Remember, these sponges do not absorb products at all)
For my taste, I like to use these with my regular blending sponges or oval brushes to blend out the areas more evenly. It's a little hard to reach eye area with Silisponges alone.
If you are into makeups like me, I think you should try these Silisponges. They do their jobs without wasting any products. Hope you enjoyed this post and let me know if you have already tried these sponges.
